The opening is citrus skin: Sicilian citron, bergamot and lemon from Calabria, with ginger that gives it a spicy, warm edge from the start. In the heart, the citrus gives way to Mysore sandalwood and Indian jasmine, with Cambodian oud in the background. The base is darker than the opening suggests: Cuban tobacco, tonka bean from Brazil, ambergris and oakmoss.
Cedrat Lova is a citrus woody fragrance from Montale, in eau de parfum concentration, launched in 2026. The citron (cédrat in French) is a citrus fruit with thick, highly aromatic peel, and here it carries the weight of the opening. Montale, the house Pierre Montale set up in Paris in 2003, describes it as the Mediterranean light on the skin and assigns it moderate intensity on its scale.
It works by day and in warm weather, but the tobacco base also supports it in autumn. Within Montale, Soleil de Capri adds lemon, lime and fruit for a lighter version; Wood & Spices shares bergamot, tobacco and tonka bean and makes it more spicy; Oud Tobacco reinforces the tobacco and ambergris for the evening. It is for anyone who wants a citrus with substance; if you're after a fresh cologne that fades quickly, this isn't it.
