Do you want to know more about this perfume?
Nice Bergamote is an olfactory masterpiece that captures the pure essence of a sunny day on the French Riviera. This Eau de Parfum opens with natural bergamot from Calabria and leaves behind a trail of citrus clarity.
Where many citruses stop at the top notes, here the heart holds: rose petals, jasmine, and ylang ylang from the Comoros weave a natural floral accord that brings body and depth. The base of cedar and tonka bean from Venezuela adds a woody, slightly sweet foundation, a comforting finish that lingers like a treasured memory.
Antoine Maisondieu composed it for Essential Parfums with a concentration of 16% and 92% ingredients of natural origin, over beet-based vegetable alcohol. It is vegan, colorant-free, phthalate-free, and not tested on animals. The ylang ylang from the Comoros is extracted through a replanting program that reduces the impact on the local ecosystem, and the tonka bean comes from Venezuelan communities with an agreement to protect the surrounding wildlife.
The bottle is refillable, which is how the brand believes a perfume should be sold: it is refilled rather than replaced. If you are looking for the more concentrated, spicier version, with ginger and rhubarb in the top notes, there is the Nice Bergamote Extrait; and to extend it onto the hands, the matching hand cream. You can see it alongside the rest of the store’s bergamot perfumes.
What does a bergamot perfume smell like?
Bergamot is a bitter citrus, rounder than lemon and less sweet than orange, with a green, slightly floral edge. Here it uses the Calabria variety, the one perfumery takes as the benchmark, and instead of evaporating right away it rests on a heart of rose, jasmine, and ylang ylang that gives it continuity.
What is the difference between Eau de Parfum and Extrait?
They are not the same perfume with more or less concentration: the notes change. Eau de Parfum starts only with Calabria bergamot over rose, jasmine, and ylang ylang. The Extrait adds fresh ginger and rhubarb in the top notes, jasmine grandiflorum in the heart, and musk in the base, and feels denser and spicier.
Is it unisex?
Yes. Essential Parfums describes it as unisex, and that is how we present it in store. The citrus and floral core doesn't lean one way or the other, and it's one of those scents that works just as well shared.
Can the bottle be refilled?
Yes. The spray is designed to be refilled with the refill, which works out cheaper per milliliter and saves you from opening a new bottle each time. It's part of the brand's approach, not an add-on.
What other bergamot perfumes are there?
You'll find them all in our selection of bergamot perfumes.
